Let's just see how pleasurable your life really, really, really is.

So, you’ve read the books, you get the e-mails, you subscribe to the Daily Fluff.
You think you’re a Pleasure Revolutionary, do ya?
Okay, then.
I am impressed.
But let’s just see how pleasurable your life really, really, really is.
It’s “radical act of pleasure” time, as we count down the 8 days left until “The Radical Step That Changes Everything” night on February 9th.

Take this quiz to see just how much pleasure you currently squeeze out of a day in your life….

1. Before you leave the house, you always make sure to…
A)	Pull on those black yoga pants with the elastic waist. That’s about all you can manage in your mad dash.
B)	Ingest breakfast, even if that means just grabbing a granola bar.
C)	Sit for 5 minutes and savor a cup of tea with your favorite news publication
D)	Spend at least thirty minutes devoted to your passion–whether that takes the form of learning the Spanish guitar, enjoying the company of a lover, or researching patterns of butterfly migration. No matter how you spend your day, you’ve already put your full attention on what you love.

2. On your lunch break, you…
A)	Continue working, full speed ahead. Who has time for lunch?
B)	Mindlessly scarf down the same takeout you’ve ordered for the past three days in a row, while checking your emails.
C)	Leave your office to go meet a girlfriend at one of your favorite restaurants.
D)	Go for what truly feeds your soul that afternoon: first, thoroughly savoring enchiladas drizzled in cilantro-avocado sauce that you packed the night before, until you’ve practically licked the plate clean. Then, a few minutes spent paging through one of your favorite magazines. On top of that, taking a moment to spritz on a bit of perfume and reapply your favorite lipgloss. And polishing it off with a quick brag session with a girlfriend, co-worker, or any lucky person in your vicinity.

3. While running errands, you normally…
A)	Move at warp speed, so you can get it all done as soon as possible and avoid traffic.
B)	Pop in your earbuds and listen to your iPod, so you can be in your own world narrated by Michael Jackson.
C)	Make it your mission to flirt with at lease three people you encounter.
D)	Flirt with everyone on your pathway, and on top of that, always insert at least one “wildcard” errand into your routine: extravagant window shopping at a store you’ve never visited before, an act of anonymous good, a trip to the ASPCA to play with the puppies, etc.

4. When passing a mirror you…
A) Wince
B) Fix your hair and reapply your makeup
C) Wink
D) Whisper sweet nothings to yourself in Italian because you think it sounds sexy

5. You typically conclude your day by…
A) Passing out on the couch, fully clothed.
B) Making a to-do list for tomorrow.
C) Watching another episode of your favorite TV show.
D) Slipping on something luxurious, climbing into bed, and sharing gratitudes with a loved one for the privilege of having had another full day on earth.

Bonus:
6. You find out there are only 20 seats left at Mama Gena’s upcoming Intro night, so you…
A) Do nothing.
B) Decide to think it over and make a decision at the last minute.
C) Put it on your desire list and call The Palace at 212-787-2411 x1.
D) Click this link to enroll now.

Mostly A’s – You place no value on your own pleasure and as a consequence, still have none of the things you truly want
Mostly B’s – You are in touch with your pleasure and appetite, but frequently ignore it
Mostly C’s – You know how to insist on your pleasure in ways that feel familiar to you
Mostly D’s – You are willing to go extremes for your own pleasure and make your own rules in the game of life

I want to know your score.
Give me the details, the challenges, and the ways you are currently overcoming them.
And if there is anything specific you want from me next week, please post that right here, too!!

And remember, I’m giving away five seats at the Intro night to the women who post the most Radical Acts of Pleasure on their Facebook and/or Twitter profiles. Any act of pleasure you complete qualifies as a radical act. In order for your post to count, you must use the hashtag “#RadicalPleasure.” If your post is going on Twitter, be sure to mention “@mamagena” For example: “@mamagena I put flowers on the desk of every one of my co-workers this morning #RadicalPleasure.” If your post is going on Facebook, you must tag “Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts,” so that it posts to our wall. We will be posting daily Radical Acts of Pleasure on our own Facebook and Twitter pages, for your inspiration. In order to count these assignments as your own radical acts, you must create separate, stand-alone posts that mention them, following the guidelines above (rather than replying in the comments section below our posts). You have until Friday, February 3rd at 5PM to post your radical acts.

Go out there and insist on some radical pleasure for yourself. Make your Mama proud.

With so much love and pleasure,

Radical Pleasure is no joke. It is a piece of technology that any woman can reach for, any day, any time, anywhere--to have a friendly little mud wrestle with the universe in order to have her way.

Darlings,

Last Sunday, this guy I am dating was coming over to watch the playoffs.
I thought it would be fun to greet him in some lingerie. It is always more fun to watch football in black lace, dontcha think? I think it helps the players.

It had just snowed–as you may recall–and the aforementioned guy called to say he was having trouble finding a parking spot, and could I come down and show him the nearest parking lot.

Hmmm.
Snow.
Me in stilettos, and very little else.
Major snafu?
Or major opportunity?
Whether we know it or not, we all get to choose.
I could get annoyed. Inconvenienced.
Or, I could choose a totally different direction.
It seemed to me like the perfect moment for a Radical Act of Pleasure.

I threw on the Sister Goddess mink, and headed down to the street.
He looked over at me, tip toeing in my satin shoes, and wondered what was going on.
Slow smile as he begins to put the pieces together.
“Get back inside! In those shoes! And that outfit!!” He cautions.
Instead, I flashed my lingerie at him.

And guess what?
Yup, the car parked right in front of my building pulled out.
And he slid his car right in.
Just like that.
Who needs a parking lot in a snowstorm when you have Radical Pleasure at your fingertips?

Radical Pleasure is no joke. It is a piece of technology that any woman can reach for, any day, any time, anywhere–to have a friendly little mud wrestle with the universe in order to have her way.

You can use Radical Pleasure for the creation of something simple, like a parking spot. Or something much more profound. You get to choose. And I will give you the full download on Radical Pleasure at my upcoming Intro night: The Radical Step That Changes Everything.

I’ll show you how this essential, missing ingredient of pleasure has transformed thousands of women’s lives and allows you to:

• Be in charge of your own ecstasy
• Create relationships your soul is burning for
• Guarantee your own sensual fulfillment
• Profit from your deepest gifts

Come reacquaint yourself with this trace element and plant yourself inside a community that insists you live your destiny, right here right now.

Last year’s Intro SOLD OUT and seats are filling up fast. Grab your friends, sisters, co-workers, and mamas and enroll online or call 212-787-2411 x1 to register.

In anticipation of the event, I’m giving away five seats to the women who post the most Radical Acts of Pleasure on their Facebook and/or Twitter profiles. Any act of pleasure you complete qualifies as a radical act. In order for your post to count, you must use the hashtag “#RadicalPleasure.” If your post is going on Twitter, be sure to mention “@mamagena” For example: “@mamagena I put flowers on the desk of every one of my co-workers this morning #RadicalPleasure.” If your post is going on Facebook, you must tag “Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts.” We will be posting daily Radical Acts of Pleasure on our own Facebook and Twitter pages, for your inspiration.

Darlings,

I love collisions, explosions, and eruptions of ecstasy that change a person’s destiny.
And The School of Womanly Arts Mastery Program creates countless moments of these moments.
In this photograph you are actually witnessing a woman in real time, in the Radical Act of Pleasure that changed her life.
Can you feel the fun?
The courage?
The conspiracy on her behalf?
This exercise occurs in Weekend Four, and it teaches a woman the art of going from agony to ecstasy, in a microsecond.
It is called the “yes” exercise.
And it is just one of dozens of Tools and Arts that each woman learns in Mastery that allow her the freedom to change the course of her life to a direction she determines and desires.
Not a shabby tool to have in your back pocket, in this day, and this age, huh?

Listen in on this latest installment of our Radio Portrait series, to hear Sister Goddess Mary Virginia describe her radical act of pleasure, in her own words…

Join me in celebrating Mary Virginia in the comments below by telling us what her Radical Act of Pleasure inspires in you.

I woke up this morning, and my house is covered in Post-its.
Every color you can imagine.
Each Post-it contains a desire.
There are fields of these desires all over the walls, ceiling, chandelier, doors, mirrors, furniture.
I love being surrounded by them.
Why?
Because I have been leading Inner Circle for five years now.
And I know something about desire.
And Inner Circle.

Inner Circle is the one place on earth that insists that a woman’s desires come true.
The whole purpose is to fan the flames of women’s desires, and turn those desires into reality.
Inner Circle, which is only available to Mastery grads, was created to allow a woman to tend to the fire of her desire, and teach her the architecture, the structure, and the tools, and let her go wild with bringing her desires out of darkness and into reality.
Anyone can do it.
What do these women want? Love. Legendary love. Deeply inspiring work. Smokin’ sex. To own the woman they are. To love every inch of their flesh. To make deep connections. To become a great mom. To live their spiritual connection.

And last week, we had an Inner Circle Reunion. Women who know this architecture intimately, alongside their guests, were conjuring like crazy.
The air was thick with creation.
And why do I love this house full of fluttering Post-its?
Because I know that I am standing in a field of what’s next. Each of these little desires is like a seed that has been planted. And I am standing inside what is to come.
And I know that the world will be immeasurably enhanced for these desires coming true.
That is the nature of desire.
It is the most powerful force on earth.
And Inner Circle is the central headquarters.

During each cycle of Inner Circle, I bring in a bevy of guest experts, each fluent in a particular facet of the mind/body/soul of woman. This round we will be joined by:

Kris Carr: New York Times bestselling author and wellness coach
Barbara Stanny: the leading authority on women and money
Dr. Christiane Northrup: women’s health and wellness visionary
Steve Chandler: my own personal business mentor
Dr. Anne Davin: depth psychologist and my creative/business partner
Dr. Steve Bodansky: sensuality expert and author of several books on “Extended Massive Orgasm”

My wish for you?
That each of you reading this could join me to experience this. It is the unique work of woman–to be the creator and the creation, all at the same time.
That is me, that is you, that is woman.
You can add fuel to your own desires right now by posting a few in the comments section below. Intoxicate me with the delicious fragrance of what’s next for you.

With so much love and pleasure,

Mama Gena

P.S. If you’re a Mastery grad who’s feeling the pull to join Inner Circle, call The Palace right now at 212-787-2411 x1. Do not hesitate.

Did you ever have a wish that was so deeply held that you never ever even thought about it coming true?
You just loved having it?
Well, I had a wish inside me that I would not only get a chance to one day meet the incredible and inspiring Dr. Christiane Northrup, and express my gratitude to her for the incredible pioneer that she has been in the field of woman’s health–but also to open the doors of pleasure for her. I have had the privilege of both. And, deeper still, this woman has become my esteemed friend and colleague, and shares her genius as an honored speaker and student at the School of Womanly Arts Mastery Program.

Enjoy this special guest post from Dr. Northrup…

As I sit here, I am filled with pleasure. I’m holding the third edition of The Wisdom of Menopause, hot off the presses. The Wisdom of Menopause is a manual for negotiating the mother of all wake-up calls—perimenopause. And it’s loaded with new, fun, and life-saving information for women age 35 and up. The book and I have both come a long way since 2001, the year the very first edition of The Wisdom of Menopause was released. I see so clearly that the missing ingredient in my life (and in the first edition) was….you guessed it—pleasure. Yes. Pleasure. That thing we’re made to feel guilty about. The thing we don’t dare talk about lest we make someone else uncomfortable.

I’m not talking about sex here—though that’s what almost everyone thinks of when you say the word pleasure. No, I’m talking about a feeling of exhilaration, ecstasy, joy, and delight. The pursuit of pleasure is intentionally choosing activities and thoughts that bring about this feeling. Of course, sex can be included in the list. And your sex life will likely improve astronomically as you welcome more pleasure into your life. I can also tell you, emphatically, that the deliberate pursuit of enjoyable activities of all kinds is health-enhancing, too.

Let me explain. Back in 2005 when I was first invited to teach at Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts, I sensed, intuitively, that the women who were learning about the deliberate pursuit of pleasure were healing physical illnesses. To test this, I asked the students of the Womanly Arts to raise their hands if they had noticed an improvement in their health since starting the Mastery program. Hands went up all over the room. And as each woman spoke, I learned that pleasure was a key ingredient in improving everything from abnormal pap smears to lung cancer.

Like any good scientist, I decided to put pleasure to the test—in both my personal and professional life. I also began to study the biochemistry of joy and pleasure to find out why feeling good was such a key component in health. And this is how I made the connection between pleasure and the gas nitric oxide, which rises in response to all kinds of pleasurable activities.

Nitric oxide is produced by the endothelial lining of every blood vessel in the body. (It sounds like nitrous oxide, but isn’t the same at all. Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, is given by the dentist.) Nitric oxide levels rise in response to all kinds of pleasurable activities, including eating dark green leafy vegetables, laughing ’til you pee your pants, and having orgasms. In fact, an orgasm (and also the fertilization of an egg by a sperm) is accompanied by a huge burst of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide increases the circulation of blood, thus bringing more nutrients to all our cells.

But it does even more than that. It is an “uber neurotransmitter” that actually helps balance the levels of all the other neurotransmitters (like serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin, and beta-endorphin) in the brain and body. These are the very chemicals for which so many women are prescribed drugs such as Prozac and Paxil. I’ve found that the deliberate pursuit of pleasure in a circle of supportive women is usually all that is necessary to help lift depression and free a woman’s soul.

Make no mistake. The deliberate pursuit of pleasure is a path that requires great courage. It’s incredibly easy to follow the well-worn path of martyrdom, pain, suffering, disease, and anger. And yes, there are hundreds of valid reasons why women are angry and depressed and sick. I have spent a lifetime documenting them, writing about them, and helping women heal from them. Besides, many are convinced that suffering “buys” you something. It doesn’t.

To truly change the conditions of our lives, we women must have the courage to end the pain. And the way to do this is to bring more pleasure into your life. And to realize that every woman who rests, who sits down to enjoy a meal, and who says YES to herself and her deepest desires, helps the next women do the same. And the next one after that. This is the new feminism. This is how we change the world and uplift humanity. One woman at a time. Pure and simple. Now doesn’t that feel good?

Marie Curie had her radium.
Salk gave us the vaccine.
Edison, electricity.
Yo’ Mama? The Womanly Arts.
The radical step that changes everything, for women.
And like so many radical steps, this one started with despair.

Come–have a little peek with me.

Here was my life before the Womanly Arts:
I hated my body. I was afraid of everything. I knew that something was terribly, terribly wrong with me no matter what anyone said.
I was scared of men. I was scared of women. I felt unworthy. I felt powerless. I had no confidence. I ran from success. I put the blocks to love.
I knew I was not pretty or sexy. I did not want anyone to get to know me too well because I thought they would hate what they found.
I wanted people to like me, but I was scared of letting anyone get too close. I was financially strapped. And I was angry at myself. And the world.

Sure sounds like a perfect recipe for despair, doesn’t it?
And despair was my middle name, first name, and last name.
It was my address and zip code.

I knew I did not know who I was as a woman. And I knew I did not know a single woman who had charted the course.
And I knew one more thing: this collection of ingredients was never going to lead anywhere I wanted to go.
I had to make a major sea change. A massive detour. I had to point my guns in a whole new direction.
I had to run headlong into what I was missing.
So, I ran, precipitously into a brand-new direction.
I became the number one student of the discipline called “pleasure,” for 22 years and counting.
Pleasure was something I knew nothing about.
And I had a deep intuition that the answers I sought resided in that neighborhood.
Taking this leap was the radical step that changed everything.
And after many years of study and research, I wrote a course for women (and myself) called Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts.
And I watched with astonishment as my life utterly and completely changed, as did the lives of the women who studied at the School.
Who am I now?
A gorgeous, hot, sexy, confident woman. Living the adventure of my life by the course I charted. Financially secure. Capable of having any man I want. Spiritually grounded and alive. Loved. So very deeply loved. Every cell. In love with my own body. And able to get anything I want. Anything. I know my darkness and my light. I know how to grieve, I know how to celebrate, I know how to rage, and how to love. I know how to appreciate every drop of the gift of life. I live the landscape called “woman,” with gratitude and grace.

Let me show you how it works.
Back in the pre-pleasure days, when I woke up, I would feel like crap. Tired, overworked, overwhelmed. I would not know what to do to make myself feel good. I had no idea where to start.
I would try lots of things, but there was no roadmap to finding my way.
Now, things are utterly different.
I still sometimes wake up and feel like crap.
Don’t we all?
But I have a boatload, a battery, an army of Tools and Arts from which to draw, to redesign my internal landscape. Not to mention a whole Sister Goddess community of support.
I start every day with spring cleaning—an exercise to release my charge. Then, I do a brag, a gratitude, and a desire. And a dance break.
I have tuned my instrument, and I am ready for what the day may bring!

In the comments below, I would love to know what you do in the morning to redesign your internal landscape and launch into your day.

I wonder what my life would have been like if my mom had known about the Womanly Arts. And had been able to teach me.
I could have had everything I wanted, a lot sooner.
You don’t have to wait any longer.
You can start getting yours, right here, right now.
I want that for you more than I can say.

Move over Marie, Jonas, Thomas.
Yo’ Mama has discovered and perfected the radical step that changes everything. And I’m teaching the ins and outs of it LIVE in NYC, on February 9th. Click here for all the details.

Consider throwing yourself a little Desire List Party every New Year’s Eve.

Hey sisters,

I have a confession.
The word “resolution” makes me want to gag.
Heave.
And punch something.

I don’t know about you, but there is nothing about a New Year’s Resolution that inspires me.
Resolutions are so…resolved. They are over before you begin. They are virtually unattainable. And even if and when you get to one, no one is there, throwing a party for you.
And if you really wanted whatever you decided to get all resolvatory about, you wouldn’t have to make a resolution to be that way anyway.
It would have happened already.
And have you noticed? You put the same resolutions on the list every year? And they keep not coming true?

It is because when something is a resolution, we think we are inadequate or wrong if we don’t have it already.
Which grinds our progress to a halt.
And stops our resolutions in their tracks.
Bleh.
Fie.
Alas.

I am inspired by something else.
I am inspired by resolution’s sexy, hot, compelling cousin.
Her name is desire.

A desire is the interface between you, and that which is greater than you.
A desire beckons you forward into a yet unknown destination, which requires you to step into a new iteration of yourself, called the woman you were born to become.
So, if you have a desire, let’s say, for a new job…
You don’t just want a different office, or a new boss in your life.
You want to become the woman who is designing her career trajectory (rather than taking someone else’s ride), so her work challenges her creatively, compensates her handsomely, and allows her the time and space to live all of her passions and commitments, which will take everyone in her world higher.
So much better than a resolution, right?
And a desire is so cool, because you do not have to wait for it to come true before you enjoy it. In fact, the more you enjoy the thought of it–right here, and right now–the more you draw it towards you.

So I want to invite you to throw out your New Year’s Resolution List, and put something new and wonderful and deliciously inspiring in its place:
A Desire List.
I want you to create a new, fresh Desire List every New Year’s Eve.
I am a big believer in creating personal rituals that refresh and renew you. Consider throwing yourself a little Desire List Party every New Year’s Eve.

Here are some basic instructions:

1. Set up a gorgeous space. Make it pleasurable: light candles, use a lovely pen, write on beautiful paper. It has to be a pussified atmosphere.
2. Don’t worry if you don’t know what your desires are ahead of time. Simply start with something small–something you know you love–and write it down. The rest will follow.
3. You can’t make a desire list when you are angry or cranky. Handle what’s bothering you, take a long hot bath, and resume when you are sane again. Enjoyment is creation.
4. Include small things and impossible dreams. You do not have to worry about the “how”–there is no force on earth more powerful than a woman’s desire.
5. Your desires may scare you. That is perfectly normal. No desire is too big for you. That is why it is yours. You will always get what you want, or something better.

If you’d like to presence the magic of desire in your life right now, in the comments below, tell me one of your old, worn out New Year’s Resolutions that you are ready to rid yourself of. And then tell me one delicious, new desire you’d like to put in its place.

And if you want to go even deeper into this conversation, come to my Intro night in NYC on February 9, 2012, where you can meet me, live, and I will give you The Radical Step That Changes Everything!

Yo sisters,

Here is a question I get asked a lot:
Help.
How can I handle the holidays?
How can I not just handle the holidays, but actually have an incredible time?
Even when I am facing scads of family?
And the pressure of everyone’s expectations?
And the break from my routine?
And today I want to give you a solution.
A Radical Act of Pleasure.
There is nothing more balancing, more restorative, more enlivening, more uplifting to a woman, than a Radical Act of Pleasure.

What is a Radical Act of Pleasure?
It is an action you take—in the direction of pleasure—when you least feel like it.
Instead of being cranky when you are cranky.
And angry when you are angry.
And frustrated when you are frustrated.
You lob a grenade in the direction of your doldrums, by reaching for a Radical Act of Pleasure.

SG Cyndy Sizzle rocking out

This may mean that in the middle of cooking for your extended gang—just when exhaustion and crankiness are about to overtake you—you blast some music and declare a dance break and make everyone dance like furies with you.
It might mean that you come down to breakfast wearing a tiara and your pink feather boa, to make sure everyone remembers you are royalty.
It may mean that you sneak out to a cheap motel for a little sex break with your partner.
You can brush your teeth naked, wearing only high heels. Compliment a complete stranger. Go to a park and sing a Christmas carol out loud, for no reason.
You are the radical. You get to choose.

Here are some of my recent radical acts of pleasure to inspire you:
-We rented a karaoke machine for Christmas here at The Palace and took random singing breaks during the day.

-I grabbed my goddaughter, went to the barn and kissed and hugged all the horses.
-Feeling exhausted, I checked into the spa for a few hours: after steam, a mani-pedi and a massage, I was ready for my dinner date with a fantastic new guy later!!

Cranky is cool. But a Radical Act of Pleasure is revolutionary.

What Radical Acts of Pleasure do you have up your sleeve? Post them in the comments below, to inspire your sisters.
