I am still riding the tailwind of your exquisite outpouring of gratitude from last week’s Thanksgiving Blog. Good Goddess, I’ve got it good. I am so rich and full from this sisterhood we have created, that I simply must brag right now and let you in on all my recent adventures as The Pleasure Queen.

I have THE most incredible brags…

I brag that in the past month, the Pleasure Revolution has been taking the world by storm.

It all started with my first-ever live, international seminar in Copenhagen. Check out this video footage from my travels to Denmark and Iceland…

I am still flushed with gratitude for the privilege of watching the Pleasure Revolution expand internationally.

I brag that two weeks later, we turned South Beach upside-down with the best ever Worldwide Sister Goddess Reunion in Miami.  I was struck down by the extreme Sisterhood we have cultivated.  We are a community of women who don’t just have one another’s backs, but fling each other forward, towards our dreams, in the grand roller derby of life.

After Miami, I flew to L.A. to attend Sir Richard and Eve Branson’s Rock the Kasbah event, where I got to see the legendary Mary J. Blige perform, and meet the man himself.  This is my year for meeting more of my heroes and heroines.

From L.A., it was back to NYC where I gave two virtual lectures at The Learning Annex–you can watch them here and here. I brag that later that week, I had the most fantastic Thanksgiving holiday, starting with brunch at Per Se, where I had the complete honor and privilege of meeting every woman’s best friend, Gayle King, who just began her new gig at CBS.  Be sure to tune in and support this sister, as she unfurls a new chapter in her life.   And Maggie was home for Thanksgiving weekend!  We took my Mom to see “Anything Goes” on Broadway.  So much fun, so much joy, so much overflowing thanks.

I brag this week I fly to San Francisco to give my Ted talk, as part of TedxFiDiWomen. One week later, I’m heading back to L.A. to serve on the hosting committee for an Evening of Gratitude at Fred Segal. It’s going to be a Sister Goddess-studded event in honor of SG Janine’s Flawless Foundation, featuring artwork by SG Tara Dixon.   And then, I will be attending a board meeting for NextStep Fitness, the foundation created by Janne Kouri. NextStep is a national nonprofit that brings the latest in fitness, health, and wellness to individuals living with paralysis and other physical disabilities.  It is so deeply satisfying to serve.

From Copenhagen to Miami, East Coast to West Coast, this is cruising at the speed of pleasure.

I’ll Give You Mine, If You Give Me Yours

It’s Thanksgiving.
I will show you mine, if you show me yours.
I will give you my top gratitudes, but you gotta give it right back to me–and reply to this blog.

This is what I am grateful for:

1. My kid. My mom. And my crazy-amazing team at the Pleasure Palace.

2. Having just come back from the best Miami Worldwide Sister Goddess Reunion of my life, where I got to read brags like this:

I brag that I came to Miami only knowing one SG there (and SG Storm Lauren via phone/email) and left being introduced to more SGs than I have fingers and toes to count!! I wish I could remember everyone’s name, because I would give you ALL a “shout out” here for making this virgin feel welcome.

I brag that Saturday during the Unbound Olympics, I did things I would never have dared before:
> first time food experiences - calamari (at Nexxt) and sushi (at Blue Sky in the Delano). Much better than I ever expected!
> danced on “the wall” at the Pink Party! (I would have been standing in the corner before, hoping no one noticed me…)

In line with the Pink Party brag, I brag that there were several loving SGs who helped me at just the right time to get up on “the wall.” When I dared to climb, two SG hands reached out for me – one from above and one from behind. After a few minutes, the SG I was dancing next to saw me look down, planning my escape. She touched my arm and said “Not yet!” About 20 minutes later, we left the wall – together. Such an exhilarating feeling to break through that bond!

I brag that after the Pink Party was over, I stayed on the dance floor!

I brag that SG Camille helped me with my screen name for Sistergoddess.com. She called me “Denver” all weekend – and we modified that to “Denver Hottie”!

I brag that I signed up for Virtual Pleasure Boot Camp 2012 - and shared the desire with my SG friend that we participate in Boot Camp together!

I brag that my handsome husband gave me a sensual massage with aromatherapy oils when I arrived home last night.

I am grateful to find this community of incredible, beautiful, creative women. I have been desiring this kind of community for a very, very long time (without knowing it was a desire) and feel so blessed to know that you are here…and not going anywhere!

I want to share my favorite frame, too. At the Pink Party, the dance floor is filled with SGs. The music plays, a tribal beat for the beautiful tribe of women gathered in Miami. The beat becomes a heartbeat, the heart that beats within each of us and connects us together through love and sisterhood. Truly a sacred experience!

3. And the amazing privilege of doing my first-ever class in Copenhagen, where I got to ride the waves of this delicious reverb:

I brag that I’ve practiced pleasure for no reason since the FANTASTIC Mama Gena event in Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago and I FEEL SO Fxxxxxx GOOD even in challenging circumstances. Woooo Hooo!!!!

Instead of running around and focusing on satisfying everyone else’s needs, I’ve prioritized my own needs! Yes, my own needs BEFORE my children’s and my husband’s needs. For instance I went to get a massage on “Holy Family Sunday Time” (!) and when I came home they were all playing and having a great time, and I was just SO relaxed and became part of their joy immediately (before I usually had a guilty conscience if I did something for myself in “family time” and therefore felt “wrong” and outside of the “community” for a while, after having returned, but OH NO, not any more. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!) Now I don’t hesitate if I need to refresh during family time… I just inform my husband that I need some time alone and I go to bed, close my eyes and listen to my favorite guided meditation, and I just feel SO RELAXED AND HAPPY…and all turned on …wraaurrhhhhh…

And they are all so happy and much more relaxed than ever before, both my children and my husband. My children’s reaction is very interesting: They just want to kiss me and hug me and are all around me ALL THE TIME in such a nice way… And my husband… mmmmmmmmmmmmm…so good! We are having SUCH a great time. And my pussy purrs as never before…

I am so happy and feel so FREE! Thank you so much, Mama Gena, for directing me back to my pleasure as MY FIRST PRIORITY! I have broken free from the invisible cage of my mind! I can now step out as THE GODDESS OF FREEDOM I was born to be! Pleasure for no reason = Freedom!

And next week…I get to go to San Francisco, to speak at TedxFiDiWomen.  And the week after, off to LA, where I will attend a party featuring the work of Sister Goddess Tara, who was so inspired by her experience in Mastery and Inner Circle, that she created a series of gratitude paintings, leading to the creation of Gratitude Designs, which are being launched with a holiday party at Fred Segal.  The party will benefit Sister Goddess Janine’s Flawless Foundation, which advocates for, and improves the quality of care for children living with mental health and neurodevelopmental challenges. Janine has often shared that without the tools she learned at the School of Womanly Arts, she never would have started Flawless. She even has Sister Goddesses serving on her board of directors. Can you see how the connective tissue of radiance, sister to sister, is spreading like the most delicious aroma, wafting from one corner of the world to the other? 15 Things You WON’T Get If You Go to Miami

Let me be frank.
The Worldwide Sister Goddess Reunion is not for everyone.

Why Go Out When I Can Just Stay In?

Moving.
Women.
Anything but simple.

We cling like a bumper crop of Virginia creepers to the familiar landscape of our old boundaries.
Why go out when I can just stay in?

Every Woman’s Greatest Fear

More scary than ending up at a sample sale in your granny panties?

This past April I was in Miami, sitting in a room full of women who were bragging, dancing, and sharing their wildest, most outrageous desires for the upcoming weekend. I wanted to be fully part of the experience, but I felt like an observer. These women were rock stars. They bragged about hotel upgrades, gifts of cash, legendary love affairs. They were free and surfing the pleasure waves, while I was…bound.

I felt trapped by my uncertainty and doubt. I was shrinking back into my chair when Mama Gena spotted me and asked what I desired for the weekend. What was my response? “Seasoned fries.” I was hungry in every sense of the word, but “French fries” was all my adorably bound self could muster. “So you came all the way to Miami for French fries?” Mama asked me. I knew I made the journey from Los Angeles for much more but I didn’t know how to articulate it or how to get there.

Mama Gena encouraged me and said something that changed everything: “The days of not knowing how are over.” She worked with me to pull out some juicy desires and I was off. I conjured limo rides, gifted dinners that cost more than I pay for rent, clubbing, and a hotel upgrade all during that Miami weekend. I even had a cab driver, who dropped me off at a Mama Gena after-party, offer to fly me back to Miami whenever I desired to return. I didn’t take him up on the offer but I was glad to have it.

I got unbound in Miami and took it all back to my life in Los Angeles. I have taken my friendships into outrageous, joyous heights. Just last night to add some fun to my workout my friend Felicia and I snuck into the Rose Bowl to run the stairs. I added pleasure and juice to my acting career and had a director/writer create three pieces just for me. I conjured an amazing boyfriend who since April (my first Miami) has taken me to Santa Barbara, Nebraska, Seattle, Vegas, And Laguna Beach. He’s handsome, smart, funny, and worthy of a Sister Goddess like myself. I brag that I am taking him to this upcoming World Wide Sister Goddess Reunion. So come get unbound and frolic with us on the beach.

89 Seconds of Miami Madness

Anyone else feel the delicious crashing of the waves of change on their shores?
You know that feeling- like something is coming.
A wind change.  A sea change.  A looming storm.  A new weather system.
That feeling is a prelude to a life change…

I am feeling it every which way but sideways right now.  There is a wonderful man on my horizon- will I press go?  Or push him away?  There are a zillion huge decisions to make about my daughter and her next steps.

Will I stay safe- right here, where I am, right now?
Or is it time for me to get unbound?
And see where that leads me.
How do you respond when something great is coming?

Because something great is always coming.  If you choose.  In advance.
Of even, a perceived calamity.
And that is what it means to live a life unbound.

A life unbound is a life where a woman makes the rules, sets the intention, and leaps with abandon in the direction of her desires.

Which always, always, always takes herself, and others, higher.
And what most women have been taught to do is the opposite.
We are taught to panic.
Recoil.
Resist.

Fall apart.

World Wide Sister Goddess Reunion: A Life Unbound FAQs:

When? Where?
Start time: Friday, November 11, 2011, 7:30pm.
End time: Sunday, November 13, 2011, 2:30pm.
All of the class sessions will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

I’ve never taken any of your classes; can I still come? Yes! As I state in my book, every woman is a Sister Goddess; therefore, if you’re a woman over 18 years of age, this party is for you!

How much does the Reunion cost? The cost for the Reunion is $350. If you sign up with at least one girlfriend, you can each attend the Reunion for only $299 each. (Your girlfriend has 10 days to enroll alongside you in order for you both to receive the $299 rate.) I’ve had Sister Goddesses enroll groups of friends and even their entire staff. If your whole family, village, office, or block enrolls together, each woman will pay only $299. I love your appetite for sisterhood!

Warning: What Happens in Miami May Not Stay in Miami

Miami is not just inside the classroom.
We take over South Beach.
At random times, you might find pink rose petals floating in the aqua ocean.
Or Sister Goddesses gathering at dawn to write their desires in the sand.
A runway appears, at the Delano.
One of my favorite days is Friday, when the entire Inner Circle takes over the spa at The Standard Hotel.

It is an aural experience; I listen to the sounds of outrageous hooting and yelping as the Inner Circlets indulge in the mud at the outdoor mud lounge.
Or shrieks of laughter as we go from the hot plunge to the icy cold plunge.
Or the yummy moans of pleasure in the salt scrub, hammam, and vichy shower.
Or the tinkling sounds of silverware on china, and the buzz of good deep conversation, as we sit outdoors on the bay, eating the most incredible lunch of mahi mahi, Greek salad, and special, secret Mama Gena cookies that The Standard Hotel only makes for us.

All the bliss pours into the classroom that evening, as the Mastery students arrive in Miami, and we kick off a weekend of indulgence in the hot, sweet power of desire—unbound—and my Inner Circle stand as wing women, to speed along the desires of the entire Mastery community.
It was poetry to witness Sister Goddess Leslie connect to the deepest, best part of her soul, after searching so long.
And who could even believe, watching Sister Goddess Molly strut her stuff, loud and proud—and I am not kidding—into the classroom.
And what about the scorching, eternal fire, burning brightly in Sister Goddess Elvira?
And please. Don’t even speak to me about Sister Goddess Ayodele. From the Oprah Show, in her church lady hat, to ceremonies and rituals at the ocean that carried the whole classroom to new heights and depths of love.

Sigh.
How do I even stand myself, throwing such a damn good party?

Beauty and the Beach

One of the most common desires I hear from women is to feel beautiful and confident, and to love their bodies. And so many women truly believe that they will finally feel that way once they: lose the weight, fit into a smaller size, get that nose job, boob job, liposuction, or Botox.

When I hear that, I have to slam on the brakes and bring this crazy train to a halt. Owning your beauty is so much simpler than that! And it’s one of the most fantastic side effects of Miami and The World Wide Sister Goddess Reunion. Just ask SG Michelle (the beautiful woman who is wearing the glasses in the photo). It was in Miami that this Sister Goddess awakened to the incredible beauty of her very own body, and it’s a love affair that continues on to this very day….

When I first heard about Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts from my Nia teacher, I was not interested. But after a few months, out of nowhere, I began hearing more about Mama Gena from people I’d just met. I started wondering if this was all a sign that I should consider taking the program.

The more I researched and heard other Sister Goddesses’ testimonials on the website, and the more I spoke with graduates from the program, the more I began thinking that I needed something more in my life. I was soon to be going through a career change of leaving my job and returning to school, but I felt that despite the new chapter in my life that was starting in the fall, I wanted to experience it with more flair, more pizzazz, more juice and more ownership of who I was. I wanted to feel self-love, self-confidence, be more comfortable with flirting, and take my life and experiences to a higher level. After witnessing some bragging in my Nia class, I knew that I wanted more of that, and decided it was no accident that Mama Gena’s name started appearing in my life at the time that it did.

For me, everything began coming together in Miami. I can’t believe I hesitated in going! Miami was amazing, and I fell in love w/myself there. I think we SGs took over South Beach that weekend, as we dazzled the streets and water. When Mama offered us the challenge to do something to stretch ourselves, I decided that I was going skinny-dipping. A little daunting and scary at first, my self-consciousness melted away through the support of all the SGs. My transformation moment was the second time I went skinny-dipping in the Raleigh pool at 1 in the morning! I think that was the most daring thing I’ve ever done, and it felt so good…because it was a little naughty. Dashing naked from the pool chair into the water was nothing I’ve ever done in public before. But being in the pool with my fellow SGs under the moon was magical. When I went back to my room that night, and gazed at my body in the mirror, I fell in love with myself. It must have been from all the activities during the day, the Pink Party, and all the skinny-dipping. But until that night, I didn’t know I was so drop-dead gorgeous. My breasts, my butt, even with the cellulite…were all mine…and beautiful. Before then, I’d never seen myself in that way. It was at that moment that everything we’d learned so far began making sense. Such love, peace and gratitude swept over me that night, and I arrived back home after the weekend on a higher level of joy and pleasure. Even now, when I see myself in the mirror, I see my beauty.

The self-confidence I have learned allows me to be in my own power, and it helps me to support other women and upride them with more clarity. I can stand up for myself and say what I want because I own who I am, and am in my power and pleasure to do so. I’m more comfortable with being sensual, and no longer feel self-conscious when I’m intimate with my boyfriend. I am now more open-minded, and can support other women in their desires. I am empowered. I can express my desires, and give into them without feeling guilty. The community of SGs has redefined the meaning of friendships, and the connections I’ve made with SGs are even deeper than those I have with my closest friends from grade school. All women need to take this course!

People who knew me before Mastery have noticed a change in me. I walk taller, prouder, with more openness, and they say that how I speak and present myself has changed. My friends say I own who I am, and embody a confident woman. That to me speaks volumes, and it’s the most sincere and greatest compliment I’ve ever received. Miami Pleasure Gymnastics

Dear Mama,

You know I live for Miami – love it, and have been to every ecstatic Miami in the history of the SWA… Mmmmmmmmmmm, the countdown is on!

I just had to share with you that it always takes some major pleasure gymnastics to add a cross-country trip from Portland, Oregon to my over-the-top full life. This time extra heroism was required – my nanny had to fly to India, so now I have NO CHILDCARE and I am traveling cross-country every week for the next six weeks!

You’d think I might take a break from my travel and cancel coming to Miami, but NO! The fuel, the pleasure, the ecstasy, and the coursework (call me a SWA nerd, but I soooooooooo love the sessions with you, Mama!) – Miami is a non-negotiable. And I just love how my husband is so on board with it – and is supporting me in making it happen!

Gotta go now to board a red-eye to NYC…see you in the sun!!
