When I very first started The School of Womanly Arts, thirteen years ago, I had a vision for global sisterhood.

Women—Sister Goddesses—standing in support of one another, internationally.

Technology has now expanded to support my dream.

What you are about to read would not have been possible, when I began this Pleasure Revolution, all those years ago.

I heard about Mama Gena during an interview she did last year on Dr. Christiane Northrup’s radio show, “Flourish.” This woman instantly fascinated me. And let me tell you, I’m not that easily impressed. But the very name of The School of Womanly Arts (SWA) sounded so intriguing…almost too good to be true. I had lived in all continents and never encountered anything like Mama Gena.  I am a multicultural woman of African, European, and Arab descent, currently living in the Middle East, and where I live, terms like “goddess” do not even exist. The concept itself is a kind of sacrilege. I had never heard a woman refer to herself as a “goddess.”

But as I listened, her words struck a chord with me. I admired Mama Gena’s stand for women. I indulged in the thought of how fun it might be to take a class with her. But I didn’t live in New York City—I didn’t even live in the U.S. So I thought, “Well… someday…” That “someday” came sooner than expected. Just a few months after hearing the interview, I enrolled in my first course at The School of Womanly Arts. Did I move closer to New York? Absolutely not! I attended all the classes from the comfort and privacy of my own home, in an entirely different continent! The course that I joined was the brand new Virtual Pleasure Boot Camp.

I didn’t really know what to expect when I enrolled in the program, but I was filled with joyful anticipation. I knew that it would help me embrace my womanhood—something I had never been formally taught to do. Our culture is so starving for the Feminine. Women have been sacrificed for such a long time, and history is still repeating itself within us whenever we’re disconnected from our feminine core. I could certainly relate to this. For so long, I’d been torn between the play of feminine and masculine energies within me… I’d mostly drawn upon my masculine side to co-create my life as a brilliant engineer. But looking back, I wondered what it was costing me…

During my studies and at work, I wanted to be part of what I perceived to be the winning team: men. There were very few women in my college program and I was used to being the only female at work. I learned to blend in with a very masculine environment, where seemingly innocent comments like “She’s a woman but she’s technically very strong” were common and sadly supposed to be compliments….

Although I’ve always loved to cultivate my feminine appearance and behavior, at work I had to wear a physical uniform for years (coverall, hard hat, boots, safety glasses, etc.) and the mental uniform of pretending that I was very tough, like all of the guys. I learned to put up a huge inner shield, but deep inside, all I really wanted was to nurture my team and protect everyone.

The sisterhood I found in Virtual Pleasure Boot Camp came as such a sweet relief. Finally, I felt free to express my nurturing side and safe to drop my armor within this community. Not only did the program connect me with amazing women, it gave me the Tools and Arts to celebrate the woman I am, every single day. My favorite tools were gratitudes, spring cleaning, and bragging. And I loved the practice calls, when I got to hear brags, gratitudes, and desires from my sisters. It made me pay more attention to the goodness and fabulousness in my life, because I wanted to have something wonderful to share when it was my turn to speak.

During the course, I wrote my very first “womantra,” a personal statement that celebrates your essence as a woman. I proudly shared the draft of my very first “womantra” in English with one of my best friends, and she was floored. She adored my text so much that she did what we call “Sister Goddess Activism” in the community. She talked about me to her friend, the editor-in-chief of the leading women’s magazine where I live. The next day, I received an invitation to contribute to the magazine’s special gratitude edition. What a wonderful synchronicity. I was one of the few women who wrote an inspiring gratitude message about being a woman (Miss USA, Rima Fakih, was amongst the women featured!). My very first “womantra” got published within days! I wrote again for another women’s magazine, and my story was also featured in an upcoming book (amongst other women’s inspiring stories). It all started in Virtual Pleasure Boot Camp…

I now know how to stay grounded and energized throughout my workday. I can log onto the brag forum and in just a few minutes, it takes me higher. I can pause to spring clean and release the pressure when things get intense. And I’ve become an expert at the Art of Having Fun No Matter What. One evening, my colleagues and I were working late to finish a project. We were so exhausted, and I decided to reach for a Tool called the “dance break.” I played a music video on the projector in the conference room, and after five minutes of dancing and laughing hysterically, we returned to our work full of joy and energy. The smiles on everyone’s faces were unbelievable.

I live my femininity and my light. I walk with style, as if I’m on a catwalk, totally owning my grace, attitude, and mysterious, exotic beauty. I could not have written this last sentence before Boot Camp! I would have surrendered to the inner voice asking me who the f*&^ I thought I was to brag and reminding me about humility…

One of the most inspiring lessons I learned from Mama Gena is to “enjoy the desires you have. Don’t edit them […]. Just love what you love, want what you want.” I learned to “conjure” my desires in record time, including everything from concert tickets to a free trip to Paris. One of my biggest desires while in Boot Camp was to eventually enroll in Mastery, even though I thought it was totally unreasonable since I lived abroad. Nevertheless, I really wanted it, so I decided not to censor my desire. I organized my vacation time around the Mastery class weekends, and eventually everything worked out perfectly. I would not have had the gumption to do this without my Boot Camp training in going for what I wanted.

All around the world, women are hungry for self-love and sisterhood. I am especially proud to be a global Sister Goddess, doing my part to empower women where I live. It hasn’t always been easy, living in a different culture compared to most women in the SWA community. But I had my sisters to support me through those moments. As Sister Goddesses, we are each contributing to birthing the new paradigm of the Feminine every time we choose to be a radiant woman who owns her unique gifts and is madly, passionately in love with her gorgeous self, with no apologies. I picture Mama Gena as a sacred midwife who helps us birth ourselves, challenges us, and cheers us on to bring to life our inner, unfathomable magnificence. I’m in awe of her love for women and her fierce commitment “to make every woman ready to inhabit every single drop of every secret corner of her soul in her lifetime.” We are each birthing the new paradigm of Sisterhood every time we choose to stand for and loudly celebrate each other. This is a privilege and responsibility, and it is exactly what I’m overjoyed to have experienced during Virtual Pleasure Boot Camp.

It’s now crystal clear to me that women who strive to live a pleasurable life are on the fast track for transformation. This is one of the best kept secrets it seems: a woman who owns her sensuality and fiercely embraces her goddess within is transforming her fate as a woman in a patriarchal society into the glorious destiny of a goddess who co-creates her legendary life. We are literally raising the vibration of the planet, one Sister Goddess at a time.

The Single Most Important Truth of Man-Training

Man-training.

When I say those words, does your heart sing?  Or sigh?

Whether we like it or not, whether we take advantage of this opportunity or not, women are the source in the man-woman game.

The relationship lives or dies depending on your desires, and how good you are at training your man (partner). A man is not, nor has he ever been, in control of the relationship. Great partnership is up to you, me, us–not him. If you have the desire, and if you have the Tools and Arts, you can set the stage for an incredible relationship, when you get your hands on some really good raw material.

No man can say that. Just like a horse requires a great rider to become the champion he was born to be, a man requires a skilled, passionate woman to become the magnificent partner he was born to be. And deep down, every woman knows this, and longs for this kind of education.

Picture this: living in Australia, newly married, purchased our first home, sold our family company, unemployable, new baby, from career woman to stay-at-home-mum, renovating a house with a six-month-old, moved in with my parents, etc.—all within a two-year period. Aghhh!

I felt like life had just chewed me up and spat me out. I was searching to find me again. It seemed that everything that I did, in those days, was about serving the men in my life (my husband and my little man). It was part agony and part ecstasy—like a pendulum swinging back and forth—and I wanted it to STOP. My marriage had really gone to the dogs. My husband Gavin went from being my best friend to just a guy that I occasionally shared a bed with. Our conversation had disintegrated to “How’s the baby? How did he sleep today? What did he eat?” I felt so alone.

I’d had enough of living this way, and one night I stumbled across Mama Gena while searching for YouTube clips that would help me get out of this rut. Mama spoke about Sistergoddess.com, and my heart began to beat again, my body tingled inside. I joined the online community without knowing one thing about her. The moment I entered the site I felt like my soul had found a home amongst the most amazing women on the globe, and I was fascinated. “Spring Cleaning,” “womantras,” “bragging”—what was this language? What the hell are “the tools?”

My journey of self-discovery had only just begun before I heard Mama Gena mention Virtual Pleasure Boot Camp (VPBC), and my soul screamed for more. I wanted to master my life, not just get it back on track. Back on track is no way to live, not when you are a Goddess, right, girls? One night when the boys were asleep, I flipped through my wedding photos. I stared for ages at a photo of Gav and I kissing on our wedding day. God, I wanted that back! I wanted the passion, I wanted the excitement, I wanted the love and lust. I wanted to be more than just a mum.

But I had one major hesitation about signing up: the price. At the time, we had only $2,000 to our name. Logically, there was no way I could afford the course, especially with a baby to take care of. But my whole body was telling me that I had to do it. I remember flipping through Doreen Virtue’s Goddess cards while on the phone with another Sister Goddess, asking myself the question, “Do I do this?” And I drew a card that read, “Leap of faith.” My husband even said, “F— it Nic, we’ll work it out.” So…I decided to jump into the great unknown and join Virtual Pleasure Boot Camp. Two days later the bank extended us a $200k secured credit—I had completely forgotten that might be coming! And that was just the beginning…

Honestly, to be drenched in Mama Gena and Dr. Anne Davin’s wisdom and to have the support of the Pleasure Revolutionaries on the Q&A boards and my VPBC sisters was nothing short of mind-blowing. Every time I listened to the Womanly Arts tele-classes or talked to my fellow sisters on the practice calls, I plunged further and further into the depths of knowing myself as a woman. When stuck, I would post a question to the Pleasure Revolutionaries (E.g., How does the Inner Bitch love the prick?) and receive the most profound answers that gave me so much clarity and direction.  It took me higher and higher.

The most exciting thing that happened was that while I soaked in my pleasure, my husband, who used to sit on the sidelines, decided to join in. He and I went from grunting at each other to spending candlelit nights “spring cleaning” together in a bath full of rose petals and milk. Yep, you read right, he was my spring cleaning partner on the topic of “what is right with our marriage?” At one point I said to him “My love for you is what’s right,” and he looked at me with tears in his eyes. We sat in connected stillness. Now that is Man-Training.

Our relationship turned into pure gold. We found a new kind of passion and respect for each other and the best thing about it was that it just organically unfolded because I finally respected me. I served myself first and my world changed. (I am going to let you in on a secret of mine: my ultimate weapon is the tool “Bitte et Chat.” I would do VPBC just to learn how to master this one!)

Since VPBC I have continued to study the Womanly Art of Owning Your Beauty. I got my colors done, re-learned how to apply makeup, joined a gym, studied the Nia movement practice, etc. I am continuing to master my Man-Training and am leading my husband and I into a relationship that I could have only dreamed of. We have now studied Tantra and Sheri Winston’s profound online seminars together and are taking our relationship to the most celebratory heights. He is in full service to me and we are both loving it.

Not to mention, on my one-year VPBC anniversary, we are going to receive a huge amount of money from the share in my husband’s grandfather’s home. In one year, we have gone from broke to living in a totally mortgage-free million-dollar home. I know I am being rewarded for my initial leap of faith. And on top of that, I am getting ready to launch my own business venture. So as you can see, I have also become highly adept in the Art of Inviting Abundance.

I now look at my wedding photo and no longer want that life back because girls, I have so so so much more, and honestly I could not have done this just by reading a book. So if you are considering joining VPBC, just jump in and get ready to have your life changed forever.

I joined Sistergoddess.com in the first weeks of its existence. An avid fan of Mama Gena’s amazing books and blog, I was thrilled at the chance to play with other Sister Goddesses and absorb their wisdom and beauty. I soon discovered that I had made one of the most brilliant decisions of my life. (Joining Virtual Pleasure Boot Camp was another, and I am quite sure joining Mastery in 2012 will be the topper.)

I owned my bliss, taking my first ever solo vacation and recapturing the feeling of being a small child in joyful communion with nature. I owned my beauty, appearing at a women’s art conference in a short dramatic dress, and sweeping everyone there into my celebration of female flesh. During the month of January, I listened to the Womanly Arts audio recording on Partying with Your Inner Bitch and found freedom from an old, deep wound with the homework of writing a viciously angry letter (that I didn’t send) and then doing an anonymous act of good for that same person. I took a relationship that had been great and made it legendary. I have Sister Goddess friends all over the world now, and our fierce support for each other extends beyond the virtual world into our daily lives, inspiring all of us to stay on the pleasure path and revel in the exquisite privilege of being a woman.

Using the Tools and exploring the Arts in community is life changing. I’ve done the exercises in Mama Gena’s books on my own and they work. But regularly checking in with my sisters online takes it to a new level. I write about my rough spots, and others admit to and transform those same experiences. I brag almost daily in the company of Pleasure Revolutionaries. I brag when I feel gorgeous and when I feel like an ugly duckling. I brag when I’m sure bragging won’t work, and it always does. I read about what my sisters are doing, and it fires me up in ways I could not have imagined. Through researching and practicing pleasure in this online community, I’ve conjured all sorts of desires, including the exact $888 I requested for a Tiffany necklace, a hot makeout session, and private coaching with Mama Gena and her business partner, the amazing Dr. Anne Davin. (Not simultaneously, though don’t put it past me!)

You know what’s the most fun? I enjoy my desires now. I don’t sit around staring glumly into the space between me and what I desire. I delight in the desire itself! I love myself for the audacity of my BIG desires and wriggle with joy at the pure fact that what I desire desires me and is on its way.
