Streamed live to you, wherever you are
The ceiling glitters. The performers defy the laws of physics and every good-girl rule you were ever handed — sequins and feathers and bare skin catching the light, bodies doing impossible, beautiful, outrageous moves while the bass pounds through the floor and into your chest. And it comes straight to your screen, live.
Everything that lights up the feminine — her hunger, her volume, her much too-much, her body, her desire...
Here, it is holy. Here, every woman is sacred.
And if you are lost, this is your map home. If you are buried eyebrows-deep in grief, this is where you come up for air. If you have gone numb, or gone quiet, or gone to your knees on the actual floor — this is the room where you stop bracing and come back to life. Not fixed. Met. In your body. Turned back on.

WOMEN IN THEIR GLORY
Every age, every size, every shade, every woman who was ever told she was too much or not enough. In here, she is everything.
Welcome to the School of Womanly Arts — a cosmology of desire, a hot, wet vortex where women are the center of everything, and the divine feminine is the very air we breathe.
The screens light up with possibility, with yes — with you — and thousands of impassioned, ungovernable humans who have decided, all at the same moment, to stop being fine. The managing falls away. The soldiering. The white-knuckling. The music comes up, and we celebrate and connect with an even deeper level of our power, and the unmitigated force of our desires.
On August 25, Regena Thomashauer — aka Mama Gena — will take the stage for the first time since 2019. Together, through our bodies, we travel to the most prominent places humans are brought to their knees — meeting parts of ourselves that have been longing to be seen, recognized, and given a seat at the banquet table of our lives. You will leave more lit, more liberated, and more in love with your life than ever.
This is the part a book cannot do. On the page, pouring your pleasure into your grief is an idea. In this room it happens to you LIVE, in your body, witnessed by thousands of women going to the floor at the very same moment.
You feel your own life-force move through the heartbreak in real time, and once you have felt it you can never again believe the aliveness is behind you. We take the loneliest image of your life — a woman on the floor, on her knees — and we make it holy, and collective, and a doorway instead of a cell.
WHAT THIS BOOK IS
On Our Knees is not about weakness. It's about the sacred threshold where the ego dies and intimacy with life begins.
There are so many moments when a human being is brought to her knees — a marriage crumbling, a diagnosis, a grave, a birth, financial ruin, the second glass of wine, the doomscroll, the better version of fine. We live in a world that demands we stay productive and impenetrable. So we brace. We manage. We soldier on.
This book is the antidote. Being brought to your knees is not the end of the story. It is an initiation. Across religion, psychology, trauma, love, sex, grief, birth, devotion, shame, and awe, On Our Knees maps how life breaks us open — and what to reach for once we're there. Not distraction. Not numbness. Your own body. Your own breath. Your own aliveness.
This is my altar book. I wrote it for the woman who is exhausted from holding it all together, and ready to be met.

YOU ARE THE STRONG ONE
You are the one who remembers. The dentist appointments, the field-trip form, which kid won't eat the crusts, when his mother's birthday is. You answer the text at 11 pm because who else will. You are the glue — and glue does not get to come apart.
You have said "I'm fine" so many times it became your name.
Someone asks what you want for dinner and the screen goes blank. You can recite what every other person in the house will and won't eat, and when it is finally your turn, there is nothing there.
You softened the last six emails before you sent them — wrote the true sentence, then wrapped it in just wanted to and so sorry until the ask looked like an apology.
You have the good plates. You are saving them. You eat off the chipped ones, standing up, like the help in your own house.
You asked him to empty the dishwasher and got the sigh — the dishes in too hard, the cabinet shut too loud — and you decided it was easier to do it yourself. And a little more of you went flat.
It is 11:40, the house finally quiet, tomorrow already parked on your chest, and you are too tired to even cry. Crying would have been a nice break, honestly.
Darling — none of that is a character flaw. It is an injury, and it is reversible. But it is not the deepest thing, and you know it.
Underneath the managing is the other thing — the one you do not say out loud. The marriage that has gone silent. The friend in the ground. The diagnosis, yours or hers. The child who left. The body that is changing on you without your permission. The dream you can no longer pretend you have the time for. Life has been bringing you to your knees, and the only tools anyone ever handed you are grit your teeth or go numb. So you brace. And a little more of you goes quiet every year.
You were never meant to white-knuckle your way through the breaking. You were meant to be initiated by it.
This is the book that teaches you how. Not to escape the grief, or bypass it with a gratitude list and a bubble bath — but to bring your own turn-on, your erotic lifeforce, straight into the heartbreak, until the thing that was crushing you becomes the source of your most ferocious aliveness.
Pleasure is not the opposite of your pain. It is the medicine you pour into it. That is the whole teaching — and it will change how you meet every hard thing for the rest of your life.
The world does not need another woman who is fine. It needs you — awake, on fire, and finally, ferociously alive.
WHY THIS BOOK, WHY NOW
Here is what is true right now. Life is bringing us to our knees — collectively. Work pressure, caregiving, aging parents, finances, loneliness, AI, the climate, a world that feels unstable. Our nervous systems have been living in brace mode since long before Covid.
On Our Knees is the map out — not by gritting harder, but by coming home to your own pleasure, power, and desire. You will finish this book more lit, more liberated, and more in love with your life than you thought possible.
who is regena?
Most people know her as Mama Gena. She started the School of Womanly Arts on her own living room floor in a NYC brownstone — and now teaches women on stages, at the Javits Center, and online, all over the world. Tens of thousands of them.
Five books — one of them the New York Times bestseller Pussy — and now On Our Knees. For thirty years she has taught one thing: pleasure is not the opposite of the sacred. It is the sacred.
